We all had our own phonelines in our dorm rooms - I guess that is how it worked, right? If you weren't in your room when the person called, you were screwed. (Or I guess you weren't screwed...heh heh heh.)

We DID have regular phones, you know. Get back from bar, hang out at home for a while to give him time to get home, and then call. Easy enough.
There were pay phones everywhere :) Either you or he were bound to be home shortly after the bar closed....
